Web Application Development
You can solve many problems with HTML, but the possibilities are endless if you have a powerful programming language at your disposal. An HTML page is static. It can't calculate. It can't communicate. It can't provide a different experience to each individual user. Languages like Java and PHP allow you to do all of those things and more. Since I learned the principles of software development at Vanderbilt, I have incorporated more complex functionality into websites. Below are a few application examples.
Repair Record Keeping System: Allows customers to check the status of their jewelry repair online. (PHP, MySQL)
Buyer Logger: Logs referring URL of buying customers. (PHP,MySQL)
